Northorpe Hall Wedding Photography | Yorkshire Wedding Photographer

Steph & Tony got married around christmas time at Northorpe Hall in Mirfield, which has a large barn that can accommodate a reasonable¬†number of guests for the ceremony and reception. The couple got married in the afternoon after the sun had set, so while I produced some of their images in colour, I worked for a large part of the day in black and white which I think also helps to empathise the emotion in images. The couple both got ready at the same hotel which meant that I was able to spend time with them both before the ceremony and capture a few photographs of that part of the day. I always enjoy getting to know the core members of the wedding party during these couple of hours as this period usually reveals some of the mood for the rest of the day. As I was leaving to head upto the ceremony Steph remembered that she hadn’t put her veil in, so as i back footed back into the room I managed to catch two of my favourite photos from the day.

The rest of the wedding continued at a relaxed pace with lots of humour and a bit of emotion thrown in for good measure, which are all of the right ingredients for good photo opportunities. After the ceremony, which produced a few tears and an equal number of chuckles, a hog roast was served at a leisurely pace and then the couple walked out of the warm barn to a sparkler exit which served as a great alternative to the usual confetti throw. The couple then did a quick first dance before the guests all piled in and they danced the night away with Tony giving a spontaneous rendition of Vanilla Ice’s ‘Ice Ice Baby’ before I left them to it.
