Wood Hall Wedding Photography | Yorkshire Wedding Photographer

Jen + Ant got married at Wood Hall Hotel in Wetherby. The couple eloped from down south for the day to have an intimate ceremony with just the two of them and two members of staff acting as witnesses.

The couple booked me for an hour to capture the ceremony and a handful of portraits around the hotel and the grounds. Having never met them before about 10 minutes before the ceremony and being a large portion of the people present at their wedding, it was important that Jen and Ant felt relaxed in my presence in order for me to move around them while taking pictures and to get a relaxed look in the formal images.

I find that a professional approach to managing and structuring the time and good humour are essential in order to complete a set of photo’s within tight time constraints. In this respect I always arrive early for every job that I take on regardless of the duration, as this allows me to figure out any obstacles to me taking the couple’s portraits and also the locations that I want to use. I can plan for changes in the lighting and prepare for any low light situations when I see the situation ahead of me on the day as opposed to visiting venues in advance.

Having worked at Wood Hall several times over the years, I had a rough plan of what I was going to do before I arrived and after figuring out what I couldn’t do on my list, I was able to complete a set of photo’s fairly quickly once the proceedings had all been wrapped up. The ceremony room was a new one for me as all the weddings that I’ve covered there in the past have been larger events and as such they took place in the main ceremony room. This room however provided some beautiful daylight into the room from a variety of angles, and this gave me a great space to work within.

The couple left me a great Google review and sent me this message when they got their photo’s:

“Just saw the photos, they are great! Thanks again for doing them :)”
